I'm A Maggot!

Nate came to me a month ago, so excited that he was going to be a Maggot in his grade play...problem was I was to come up with a costume, YIKES!!!! Most of you know that a maggot is a worm, but his music teacher wanted his costume to be dirty...so the photo above is what I came up with Nate's help. The production was so cute....Nate was the comedy relief....his line was, "I'm a Maggot!" with a slow draw, which  he said  a couple time in the play...it was very funny.

We really enjoy the "Bugz Picnic" and can't wait to see it again when Mya is in 2nd grade....wonder what she will be?

Time Out ...There Is Infinite hope

I attended my first's "TIME OUT for women" this weekend and it was wonderful...it truly left me spiritually uplifted. First being surrounded by over 2200 women who shares the same faith is so empowering! I learned, that I'm not alone in my struggles  as being a woman, a wife, a mom and daughter. 

I learned some great tips that I want to implement in my family. Like for instants...the 5 keys in the "A Mother's Book of Secrets: Keys to Making Motherhood Memorable, Meaningful and Magnificent": by Linda J. Eyre and Shawni Eyre Pothier 

•  1. Your Own Kind Of Mom 

-being what the mom that works for you...well that was a wake up call for me, I know  I can be a better mom but I don't have to be everything at once.

•  2. Have a Infrastructure 

-Have a Family Mission Statement, that your family can all remember(short and sweet) and display in your home where you all can see it everyday.

• 3. Give Ownership

- Set goals( let your children come up with their own because it means more and the likelihood of them getting it done is more) 

Have your children set goals that covers;

                     -Physically

                     -Mentally

                     -Socially 

                     -Spiritually

-Let your children take ownership over their arguments.

   -Have a place that your child(ren) go when they having a argument or a disagreement and before they can get out they have to;

   -Figure out what you did wrong.

   -Tell a adult what you did wrong.

   -Say to each other that they're sorry.

•   4. Formalize Family Traditions

-We had a tradition regarding birthdays and that mean it's your day...you get decide what's on the menu for breakfast, lunch, dinner and what cake you want. Whatever you want to do, the family do too. It's our favorite tradition.

•  5. Teach Kids to Work 

-Chores; -Print it 

               -Patience

               -Persistence

We taught our boys to clean the bathrooms and if you have any boys you know what I mean. I truly believe in this key.

The message that touch me the most was from Mariana Kallon...She's from Sierra Leone Africa and it was a war zone. She witness the murders of her parents, was gang raped, watched her sister and other women legs and arms being cut up after they were raped, surviving with just the clothes on her back and a hygiene kit, she received from our church (a kit that she shared with 25 women)....her faith in God is amazing. The Lord truly was mindful of her and her faith in him never waver. It made me realize how selfish, petty and ungrateful we American are. We take things for granted and not truly realize how extremely lucky we are.

The conference left me grateful for being a woman, wife, a mother and a daughter of my Heavenly Father.

I felt so enriched and felt a sisterhood with all that attended. Can't wait to go again.

He's Still My Bestfriend!!!!

After 13 years of marriage and he's still my bestfriend. In those years, we been blessed with 3 beautiful children, the adventure of moving 9 times and three different states,

bad and good camping trips, hikes, great vacations, the joy of home ownership, the love of nature we share with our children, two dogs (Soup and Bean) and the love that deepens every day....Completely grateful for a spouse who tries to understand me, even when I'm difficult...I can always rely on him to be a great good friend, good dad, and good husband....Thank you so much for being you and I can't wait to see what more adventures we'll share in our lives.

Spring Break

I think it's funny before spring break, the weather was beautiful but when spring break came, it felt like winter and we even got snow! We did take advantage of the week and went fishing, hiking, and played games with friends.

Crab Creek...Nate and Blake went fishing and I went with the rest of the kiddies on a hike...It was so beautiful!

Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge- We had a great time seeing the wildlife and walking on the paths.

What Not To Do!

This is what happens when you decide to dye your hair yourself....YIKES! I went from Brunette to Black Hair! The benefits of having black is that it looks healthier  and my eyes really stands out. I'm going to live with it until July and have my sister(who's a hair stylist) fix my hair...I don't trust stylist here because they don't know have to work with my type of hair and just ruin it more! So the lesson here is, "It doesn't always paid, to do it yourself!"

It was a quite Easter due to a Wonderful General Conference.  The kids got their Easter's Baskets and had a grand time decorating their airplanes.

 

 

 

but we did have a Easter Egg hunt in our first yard of 80 eggs! Can we said "Sugar High!"

March Madness!

March for us has been so busy and crazy!!!! So here is what has kept us busy...

Basketball Season for one...it was so much fun but only Nate played this year! I'm so glad that I have my Fridays back but now we're starting SOCCER season and all the kids are playing this year, YIKES for us!

We also had the Annual Cake contest for Cub Scout, this year. Theme was "Celebrating the 100 years of Cub Scout"! The boys decided that they would do a pinewood debry...this was their design.

Isaac decided also to participate in the Science Fair (but not to be judged) and partnered up with a classmate.  They waited for the last minute but got their project done.

 This month Cub Scout had kept us busy with the Pinewood Derby...but boys won awards. Isaac was awarded " The most humorous" and Nate was awarded "Most Economical"....it was a blast watching the race.

What Natures Offers!

We went on a nice walk on the Spokane River trail, on one beautiful Saturday's afternoon and had a great time.If ever you find yourself bored, look for what your city has to offer and you'll be surprise how many are free. So go outside and enjoy being silly and.........
